JUKANI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Admire magnificent and majestic big cats of the world – Lions, Tigers, Leopards, and Jaguars. The animals – at their forever home – Jukani, have been rescued or re homed from facilities that could no longer care for them. At Jukani they can now explore their large natural habitat, designed, and built around each individual animal’s needs. They are free of exploitation and the stress caused by human interaction. They can be appreciated and photographed in all their magnificence. On your 90-minute walking safari with one of our entertaining and knowledgeable guides you will also find Raccoons, a Honey badger, Caracal, some Zebra and Springbok as well as ferocious predators such as the Spotted Hyena. The lightning-fast Cheetah and agile tree climbing Pumas are a delight to see.

If you would like to spend extra time in the sanctuary self-guided tours are also available where you can walk at your own leisure with one of our handy maps as a guide to help you identify the animals with ease.

Farmyard

Also located at Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary is The Farmyard: At the Farmyard we believe in the magic that happens when laughter meets furry friends and tiny hooves patter in excitement. Nestled in the heart of the Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary our farm is not just a livestock sanctuary ; it’s a haven of joy, discovery, and the simple pleasures of connecting with nature from the youngest age.

Our commitment to creating an educational experience sets us apart from the traditional farm sanctuary. Here, we don’t just invite you to observe; we encourage you to immerse yourself in the magic of the farm. As you treat the mini horses to a snack, or giggle at the playful antics of our mischievous goats, and let the curiosity of your inner child run wild as you make friends with our farm chickens who are explorers just like you, our Farmhard will regal you of stories about our animals and answer every question you might have.

The Farmyard is not just a destination; it’s an interactive adventure for families, friends, and animal enthusiasts of all ages. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, exploring with your school group, or simply seeking a day of whimsy, our Farmyard promises an experience that transcends the ordinary.

Join us at the Farmyard, where laughter is the universal language, and each visit is a chance to create heartwarming memories. We can’t wait to share the joy of our animal companions with you and make your day at the farm an experience to remember. Welcome to a world where whimsy comes to life!

Night Time Safari

We also offer at Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary a Night Time Safari and Boma Dinner: Our chef has a truly South African culinary delight awaiting you before you embark on this night-time safari.  The dinner will be served soon after you take your seat under the stars around the fire in the Boma.  Once the meal has been enjoyed fully the night will be dark enough to head out into the pathway to find the animals.

Embark on a night safari with one of our expert guides and have all your senses tune into the night-time activity of the wild animals.  Experience an African sky and follow the Southern Cross or the roar of the Jaguar as you head deeper into the animal’s home.  Be ready to have a tiger magically appear out of the black forest into the red light of the guide to see who is walking the night path.  Feel the roar of the lions as the different prides talk about your nighttime visit. This is not a photo friendly tour – this is a tour to fully immerse you into an African Bush Experience without the noise of a jeep or light pollution.

The tours will be kept small and is open to all ages.  The night safari start at dusk and will be seasonal according to the proposed sunset times the activity will last up to 3 hours in total.  Bookings will always be essential.

The Boma can seat up to 62 people and require a minimum of 8 to commence.
